Rappahannock County Busted Mugshots is a private reference site, not a government office. It cannot confirm a person’s custody or release status, post bond, release a person, or pull official booking records for a visitor. Direct those questions to the public office that holds the relevant record.
Official Rappahannock Record Contacts
Use the records route that matches the question. RSW Regional Jail is the regional current-custody and jail-record contact for Rappahannock County. The Sheriff’s Office is the county law-enforcement contact, while the court clerks handle case and filing matters rather than a live jail roster.
RSW Regional Jail and Adult Booking Records
RSW Regional Jail
6601 Winchester Road
Front Royal, VA 22630
Main: (540) 622-6097 or (540) 622-8678
Booking: (540) 622-8620 or (540) 622-8683
Records: (540) 622-5024
For a narrow adult booking-record or adult initial-intake-photo request, RSW’s published FOIA materials list Major Michael D. Miller at the same address. Phone: (540) 622-5028. Fax: (540) 622-2846. Email: michael.miller@rswregionaljail.com. Requests may be made by mail, fax, email, in person, or by telephone. A written request that gives a full name, approximate booking date, and booking number if known is the clearest way to identify a pre-existing record.
RSW has no published flat fee for a booking image or record page. Actual access, search, copy, and supply costs may apply. A requester may ask for an estimate in advance, and an estimated cost above $200 may require a deposit. Virginia’s FOIA response rule is five working days, with a written impracticability extension of up to seven additional working days when authorized. That response may provide, partly provide, lawfully withhold, or state that no responsive record exists.

Virginia Department of Corrections
The VADOC locator is for state custody or supervision, not current RSW booking status. General VADOC FOIA questions may be directed to (804) 963-2953 or FOIA@vadoc.virginia.gov. VADOC policy can limit access to full inmate or supervisee records.
Choose the Right Rappahannock Path
The official starting point changes with the question. The countywide records reference on the home page explains the source sequence in more detail.
- For a person currently held at RSW, begin with the official RSW locator and then use the jail’s contact channels if needed.
- For a specific adult booking record or adult routine intake image, send a focused request to RSW’s FOIA contact.
- For charges, hearings, or a disposition after a booking, use Virginia court case information and the appropriate local clerk.
- For a state-prison or supervision status, use VADOC rather than treating it as a new Rappahannock booking search.
- For records held by the Sheriff, contact the Sheriff’s Office with a clear request that describes the record and date.
